Unipower GT turns up - looking for a new owner

It's always nice when a car comes out of its hiding after a long time and it's the case now with a Unipower GT that had been stored away for quite a while. Matt Phillips placed a pictured of it online and added: "Fresh out of very long term hibernation: a Unipower GT. It's been in storage for 20+ years. Definitely a project and most likely will be up for sale as owners are relocating / downsizing."

I've contacted Matt, and although I haven't heard back from him I couldn't resist to try and decipher which of the cars it is. I think I have it as 'HNK 8G' and have added some pictures of it below for you to enjoy. I hope there will be more to follow soon, and do let me know when you become the car's new owner.

Oh! And for last month's Unipower GT offering - click here.

'HNK 8G' when it was black. The car is an early, if not the first, Mk2 GT

It was offered for sale in 1980, and then again (for £1,500) in 1983 in Luton

The car is believed to have been sold new with Cosmic wheels and sunroof

It was seen briefly in its restored state before it disappeared again

Last sign of life came from quite a number of years ago, when it was offered for sale again

It looked to be in some urgent need of tender loving care back then. Last taxed in 1986

Interior original, complete and in a very nice state state though. With added Speed Pilot

Frame and engine looked as if it definitely needed work, and this was years ago
